ROUTINE VISION CARE
Some vision plans are separate from the medical plans, therefore you should
be aware of the name of your vision plan and it's participating providers
before making your appointment. Our office participates with most Vision
Service Plans and Vision Care Plans. We offer discounts to State Employed
patients and their immediate families and also to Caraustar and Comporium
employees. Please let us know when you check in if you are eligible for
a discount. This discount is for routine vision coverage only.
Vision Service Plan (VSP) Patients
Please
call VSP at 800-877-7195 to verify if we participate with your specific
plan. Notify us of your VSP coverage when you schedule your routine exam
and be prepared to give us the member's ID#, date of birth and employer.
ROCK
HILL OPTICAL SERVICES BILL VSP SEPARATELY FROM THE ROCK HILL EYE CLINIC,
THEREFORE, IT IS THE PATIENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY BOTH OFFICES
OF THEIR VSP INSURANCE COVERAGE SO BOTH OFFICES CAN OBTAIN PROPER AUTHORIZATION
FOR PAYMENT.

BILLING
POLICY
An
eye exam is billed as either medical or routine.
A
routine exam is performed on healthy eyes to determine
if
you need corrective lenses or
a change in your current prescription. A medical exam is
performed
to evaluate, follow progress and/or treat an eye related disease, injury
or condition such as cataracts, glaucoma, foreign bodies, conjunctivitis,
etc. Diabetes can affect the eyes and most insurance companies consider
it a medical necessity to be examined yearly.
Patients are responsible for knowing their insurance benefits and requirements
as well as which physicians participate with their insurance plans. If
an insurance coverage requires a referral or authorization to see a specialist,
it is the patient's responsibility to make sure it is obtained by the
appointment time.
Please contact the appropriate department with any billing questions:
Eye Exams: 981-5036
Glasses/Contacts: 327-3111
SELF
PAY VISITS
If
a visit is not covered by insurance or we do not parrticipate wth a specific
insurance, the visit would be classified as self pay. As a courtesy, we
offer a 20% discount on self pay visits if the visit will be paid in full
at the time of service. The discount is not retro-active and does not
apply towards materials at Rock Hill Optical Services. |
